Duke University Software License Agreement

The software covered under this agreement is not in the public domain. However, it is freely available without fee for education, research, and non-profit purposes. By obtaining copies of this and other files contained herein, you, the Licensee, agree to abide by the following conditions and understandings with respect to the copyrighted software:

  1. The software is copyrighted by Duke University, and ownership of the software remains with Duke University.
  2. Permission to use, copy, and modify this software and its documentation for education, research, and non-profit purposes is hereby granted to Licensee, provided that the copyright notice, the original author's names and unit identification, and this permission notice appear on all such copies, and that no charge be made for such copies. Any entity desiring permission to incorporate this software into commercial products or to use it for commercial purposes should contact: John Pormann or Craig Henriquez, cardiowave@duke.edu
    • NOTE: While offering computer source code is a convenient way to dispense the software, this software is NOT open-source software.
  3. Licensee may not use the name, logo, or any other symbol of the Duke University nor the names of any of its employees nor any adaptation thereof in advertising or publicity pertaining to the software without specific prior written approval of Duke University.
  4. THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE CONTIBUTORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.
  5. The software was developed under agreements between Duke University and the Federal Government which entitle the Government to certain rights.

Please use the following acknowledgment text and citations and send us references to any publications, presentations, or successful funding applications that make use of this software:
